Meet the Team - Small Animal Vets


Jenny qualified from London’s Royal Veterinary College in 2009 and joined the practice in 2013. A key member of the small animal team, we are delighted to have her back following her maternity leave.


South African-born Uke (‘Ee-ka’) came to the UK to study at Bristol University’s Vet School, qualifying in 2015 and joining the practice shortly afterwards. One of our small animal vets, outside work she is a keen traveller and enjoys adventure sports such as rock climbing and cycling.


Simon qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2005.  After working in various locations around the UK he settled in Cornwall in 2012 and joined Calweton's small animal team in 2016.  He is the father of three small people.  If he has any spare time it is spent on the golf course!


Claire joined the practice in 2016 having graduated from University College Dublin and enjoys all aspects of small animal work.  At home in Ireland she plays Camogie – a super-fast Irish version of hockey – and is already adapting to hockey Cornish style.  She is also a Gaelic football player.  She has a dog Bailey and a kitten Puss.


Anna joined our small animal team in September, having qualified from the University of Nottingham. She is a keen horse rider and also enjoys playing badminton. She is looking forward to improving her surfing and learning to sail. She has a dog Tilly with whom she enjoys the challenge of attempting agility competitions!


Sonya qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2005. An experienced vet who has worked in the area since qualifying, she joined our small animal team in 2017. She is married to a local dairy farmer and is the mother of two small children.



Tina has been an integral part of Calweton’s team since 1986, and has been our head nurse since the late 1990s.  Vital to the management of our Pets team, her wealth of experience and considerate nature ensures all our clients’ pets receive the best care possible.

Small Animal Administration


Jane joined the practice in 2012 and will be a familiar face and voice to our clients with pets.   Our senior administrator, she manages the small animal office and reception.
