Meet the Team - Small Animal Vets

Jenny

Jenny qualified from London’s Royal Veterinary College in 2009 and joined the practice in 2013. A key member of the small animal team, we are delighted to have her back following her maternity leave.

Uke

South African-born Uke (‘Ee-ka’) came to the UK to study at Bristol University’s Vet School, qualifying in 2015 and joining the practice shortly afterwards. One of our small animal vets, outside work she is a keen traveller and enjoys adventure sports such as rock climbing and cycling.

Claire

Claire joined the practice in 2016 having graduated from University College Dublin and enjoys all aspects of small animal work.  At home in Ireland she plays Camogie – a super-fast Irish version of hockey – and is already adapting to hockey Cornish style.  She is also a Gaelic football player.  She has a dog Bailey and a kitten Puss.

Anna

Anna joined our small animal team in 2017, having qualified from the University of Nottingham. She is a keen horse rider and also enjoys playing badminton. She is looking forward to improving her surfing and learning to sail. She has a dog Tilly with whom she enjoys the challenge of attempting agility competitions!

Sonya

Sonya qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2005. An experienced vet who has worked in the area since qualifying, she joined our small animal team in 2017. She is married to a local dairy farmer and is the mother of two small children.

Owen

Owen joined the small animal team at Calweton after graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2018. In his spare time he enjoys cooking and kayaking. He is looking forward to spending more time exploring the Cornish coastline and countryside.

Rebekah (Bex)

Bex joined the team in 2018 having qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London and will be working in both our farm and small animal departments. In her spare time she enjoys all things outdoors, especially canoeing, and has played football whilst at university. Originally from Norfolk, she is looking forward to exploring the coastal paths and hills that Cornwall has to offer!

Rory

Rory graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2018 and is looking forward to getting stuck into both farm and small animal practice! Originally from Yorkshire, he is is excited at the prospect of exploring Cornwall's  surfing beaches, and will definitely be sticking the surfboard in the van for post work trips to the beach. He also hopes to be running, climbing and mountain biking when there's no waves to be had! 

Nursing

Tina

Tina has been an integral part of Calweton’s team since 1986, and has been our head nurse since the late 1990s.  Vital to the management of our Pets team, her wealth of experience and considerate nature ensures all our clients’ pets receive the best care possible.

Small Animal Administration

Jane

Jane joined the practice in 2012 and will be a familiar face and voice to our clients with pets.   Our senior administrator, she manages the small animal office and reception.
